Court directs State to abide by the guidelines framed by the Centre for Vaccination of the Transgenders: Rajasthan High Court
The Division Bench of Sangeet Lodha and Vinit Kumar Mathur, JJ., of the High Court of Rajasthan disposed of a petition with directions which was filed seeking directions to the respondents to facilitate COVID-19 vaccination for transgenders of the State of Rajasthan in the judgement passed on 07-09-2021 in the case of Sambali Trust vs State of Rajasthan, D.B. Civil Writ Petition No. 10663/2021.
FACTS OF THE CASE:
Counsel appearing for the petitioners, Mr. Pushkar Taimni submitted that the Government of India had already issued guidelines for vaccination of transgenders, which were not being adhered to by the State Authorities.
JUDGEMENT:
The Court directed the State to look into the guidelines already issued by the Government of India vide order dated 20-05-2021 and take appropriate steps for vaccination of the transgenders.
