Introduction.
The Allahabad High Court stated that the country’s youth are ruining their lives owing to the allure of free relationships with individuals from the opposing sex-aping Western society, but that they ultimately fail to find a “real soulmate.”
Analysis.
The victim in this case, according to the court, “hopped from one affair to the other” with a number of boys before ultimately committing herself by ingesting mosquito repellent out of “frustration” owing to “resistance of her family or incompatibility with the boys she befriended.”
The bench also remarked that young people are going into partnerships portrayed in media like films and social media without understanding the repercussions of doing so, and that once their partner is rejected by others, they are “disillusioned.”
